About

Our Mission

Is to build a unified national minority contractors community that develops and supports continuous growth and expansion on inclusion of minority contractors in new and existing construction projects.

Our Goal

Is to maximize construction knowledge and efforts so as to stabilize and strengthen economic growth in the minority community as we educate and build minority contractors. NAMC leverages diversity efforts to establish long-term partnership activities that benefit the overall community to increase future opportunities for minority contractors.

Our History

In 1969, the founders of NAMC recognized that the commercial construction community was segregated by more than just race and gender. Commercial construction was divided in subgroups of developers, corporation owners, general contractors, contractors and subcontractors. The divisions created and promoted an environment that was not conducive to the development of strong thriving minority contractors. If minority commercial contractors were going to be a significant part of the growing industry, there was going to be a need for partnerships among corporations, general contractors, owners, developers and minority contractors. Consequently, the first NAMC chapter was formed to address the need.
